AI Readiness
Definition
AI readiness considers whether a use case has a clear purpose, usable information, suitable access, capable people, ownership and a way to evaluate results. Readiness is specific to the task; an organization can be prepared for one use and unprepared for another.
Why it matters
It helps identify work needed before choosing or expanding a solution. Missing source ownership, unclear permissions or no review process can limit an otherwise useful idea.
Example
Hypothetical example: before trialling an internal knowledge assistant, a team checks document versions, access rules, source owners and representative questions with agreed answers.
