AI Assistant
Definition
An AI assistant supports a user through language or another interface. It may answer questions, prepare content or use permitted tools. The name alone does not tell you whether it can act independently or change information.
Why it matters
Define the task and permissions rather than assuming every assistant has the same capabilities. A person may remain responsible for checking its output and deciding what happens next.
Example
Hypothetical example: an employee asks an assistant to draft a project summary from approved notes, checks the facts and decides whether to share it.
